Well, it’s almost Christmas time again…wowsa…where did 2007 go?
At any rate, the crew here at The Creative Coast Alliance wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Bring it on, 2008.
As we all know, it is better to give than to receive. Therefore, we’re willing to take one for the team and have a special request for anyone feeling like they want to play Santa this year.

Yesterday, our server blew up. Two out of three of our hard drives running RAID 5 went and exploded at the same time…what are the odds?
No (Exchange) email. No files. Thank god for “backups” (and those of us lucky enough not to run Exchange.)
So, all we want for Christmas is a new server. Luckily Entre is playing Santa this year. Ho ho ho!

So I got an unusual press release in my inbox today. Our friend Steven Sacco over at the Newspaper-Formerly-Known-as-the-Savannah-Business-Report shot this over to Angel who, not surprisingly, passed the blogging buck to me. You, Angel, are a slacker.
At any rate, there is a new business in town, but it’s for dogs. And cats. And even humans. According to Steve, a “KBB for dogs and cats.” That may be a stretch…but it does sound cool.
Now I’m not really a pet person (I’m too selfish, irresponsible and single to own one at present), but I do like them and if I DID own one, I’d be intrigued.

The place is called “TailsSpin” and it’s run by Jusak Yang Bernhard (apparently was on Grey’s Anatomy) and award-winning video editor Jeff Manley. The basic idea is a high-end swanky pet food store that also has high-end swanky human goodies.
From the release:
“We looked around Forsyth Park and it was such a pet friendly environment,†Bernhard said.

I know we’ve been rather SLACK over here lately in the blogging department (our apologies), but I was combing through all my feeds this afternoon and found this beauty from Scott Larson:
“Mess with an alderman, defecate, puke and get arrested.”
Wow. Good work man.
We’ve given you hell for your headlines before, so I thought I’d continue the tradition. Although, I must admit…this one made me sit up and read.

Yes, I am leaving the fulltime employment of TCCa to start my own consulting company (for those of you who haven’t heard the news, read this first).
But I’m not going anywhere.
Since “What? … Oh no! … Why? … Congratulations!” seems to be the first four things I here from everyone in the last few days (not always in that order :-), I thought I would help you get them out of the way so I can talk a little about where TCCi has been, where it is now and where it is going.
Settled down yet? Ok. First, as I have oft stated, my job has always been to work my way out of my job. Simply put, the idea, then and now, for “The Creative Coast” is big. REAL big. At a fundamental level, it is bigger than all of us, our region, our town, our community and absolutely bigger than a single organization and especially bigger than any one person. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t have been involved, and if it isn’t, then we should think about finding a new idea.
