Undeniably, water is the source of life. And our waterways are our sustenance, the lifeblood of our economy, the backbone of our communities and the foundation of quality of life. And while there are a thousand different ways you can (and should!) get involved in the protection of our coastal rivers, there is one way in particular you can make a difference. How? Simply by drinking, eating and dancing the night away.
On Thursday, October 8th from 7:00 – 10:00 pm, the second annual RiversRock! presents “BlackwaterBluegrass,” a fundraiser benefiting jointly the Ogeechee-Canoochee Riverkeeper and the Satilla Riverkeeper, two groups dedicated to the protection of our precious coastal river resources and ecosystems.
Sponsored by Better Environments & Southern Eagle Distributors, Queensborough National Bank & Trust, the Young Professionals of Savannah, Jeanne LaSala & Jim Abbot, Storm Water Systems, the City of Savannah, Bernard Williams & Co. and Fred Williams Homebuilder, Inc., this years event promises to be a kicking good time. The event and will feature live music by The Packway Handle Band, a bluegrass quintet out of Athens. All proceeds from BlackwaterBluegrass will benefit Ogeechee-Canoochee and Satilla riverkeepers.
