Carbon Motors protects and serves: Set to showcase the future in law enforcement in Savannah this week

This week there is one more cool thing happening that you need to add to your calendar: the Carbon Motors Tour is stopping in Savannah, one of only 17 places across the country where they’re exhibiting their new Carbon “E7” vehicle.”  From 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm, the car will be on display and open to the public at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. (Read the full article in the Business Report & Journal).

The E7 is the Carbon Motor Company’s newest design and trend-setter in the realm of law enforcement.  The vehicle was designed with the assistance of over 2,700 law enforcement officials nationwide and is the first purpose-built vehicle for law enforcement.  Instead of being a traditional retrofitted retail passenger car, the E7 was designed from the tires up to best serve and protect the public.  And since law enforcement is the reason for the car itself and not an afterthought, the E7 could end up saving money for local, state and federal governments.  FYI, the average police cruiser, once retrofitted, could end up costing around $80,000.

Locally, both SEDA and the Ariel Savannah Angel Partners (ASAP) - an organization comprised of experienced professionals who work together to review, analyze and invest in early-stage high-growth potential companies - have been attracted by Carbon Motors’ capacity for design and success.

“The potential for Carbon Motors to really take off is palpable,” said Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA) President and ASAP member, Eric R. Winger. “We have enjoyed working with and learning about Carbon Motors and hope to one day see the “E7′ in Savannah, enabling our officers to work more efficiently and safely as they protect and serve our community.”

By placing a higher premium on security, Carbon Motors is not only producing efficient and effective design, but they are working through a focus to make our streets and neighborhoods safer for us and those who patrol them.

From their website:

When officers die in the line of duty, not because of a criminal action, but because our country has failed to provide them the appropriate equipment to patrol our homeland, it matters to us. It affects our communities, our livelihood, and it is a direct reflection of our competitiveness as a nation. These officers serve our country with honor and no different than a solider in a theater of war, these brave women and men in uniform deserve world-class equipment and capabilities. Nothing less. Carbon Motors will rectify this injustice that has gone on for far, far too long.

Thanks to SEDA and ASAP for getting Savannah as a star on the Carbon Motors Tour map, literally.  We look forward to learning more about the vehicle and to seeing this kick-butt car.  RoboCop, anyone?  (Sorry, I will stop referencing bad ’80s movies in my blogs.)
