Starland Farmers Market

2 Comments Events & Happenings, Green, Local Bid-ness

Starland

Finally, a local Farmers Market! There is truly something so nice about waking up, grabbing some coffee and spending the morning browsing fresh produce and other goods. We used to go to a local market before moving to Savannah and have missed that weekend treat. The Starland Farmers Market was initiated by a couple who have recently moved to Savannah and missed their market from North Carolina (why didn’t I think of initiating that?!) and the first date will be this Saturday May 12 at 9:00am. Thanks to Jenny Weldy and Andy Johnston, Savannahians can now enjoy this weekend event.

Check out their website for more information. I’m excited to peruse the veggies and see if there’s anything new I can try. Supporting local farmers is a great way to be Green and it’s even better when those local farmers come to town for a market. Starland is also still in the process of seeking vendors; check out their website and see if you can pitch in!
