Extreme Makeover: Website Edition

14 Comments Creative, TCCa Stuff

So, we’ve had plastic surgery (a face-lift to be exact) – thanks to the talented collaborative efforts of Dr. Paragon and Nurse Nicasio. I even got to hold the scalpel a few times. We’re still a little sore from the stitches but we’re ready to show all our friends. You’d be surprised at how much blood and guts a tiny little “minor” face-lift produces, but in the end it was well worth it and we’re still alive.

“Why” you ask? “We liked the old site” you say? Well, fine…but we liked the blog design so much we decided to go and get ourselves a shiny new face for the TCCi website. Plus, it was time for a change and we think it’s important to “unite our brand” on and off-line. We’re still working out the kinks, but we like it so far and would love to hear what you think. Really.

And let us know if you find any bruises…at this point, we’re still not above bringing out the band-aids.

Good call, Fitz, and good work, Chris and Felix. I like the new design muchly. It makes my site look like a pile of toothpicks.

Have you ever seen the bridges that vo-tech kids make in school with toothpicks and/or matchsticks? I’m just saying…

  9. Reply Fitz Haile says:

But what a well-developed back-end that pile of toothpicks has. (Is it just me or did that sound kinda sexual?)

Well, I’m uhh… flattered. Actually, it IS powered by my home-brew MVC framework in PHP 5 :-D

It’s like a Mercedes in a burlap sack.

You writing MVC frameworks now, Lucas? Do tell!

    Rails, watch out…

Cool, that you matched up new “Creative Coast” to the WordPress theme on http://blog.thecreativecoast.org... its clean, its green & blue, its 2.0 :)

  13. Reply Lucas Oman says:

Yah, Rails’d better watch out. Ever heard of Socrates? Plato? Morons.

Nah, but really, it’s just a little pet project of mine, and something I might put into production (not distribution, mind you) if I start to like it enough. Some of the other options, like Cake, are a little bulky and too whiz-bang; call me old fashioned, but I like hacking things.
