National Geographic says Redheads set for extinction

National Geographic

So, uh…I know this is sorta off the topic, but in the interest of self-preservation (and a picture of Nicole Kidman, Elizabeth Kucinich), Angel and I thought this was interesting. Plus, we’re a little foggy after a great cSpot (creative folks networking event) yesterday and we thought a little light reading procrastination may be in order.

No more redheads? (Elizabeth Kucinich)

Apparently, my brother and I are an endangered species. And Carrot Top. No joke.

According to the article, National Geographic says:

Genetic scientists warn that redheads are a dying breed; soon they will become extinct in the next 100 years. National Geographic magazine reports that less than two per cent of the world’s population has the natural red hair.

Whoa. I feel a bumper sticker coming.

I’ll just go ahead and say it…donations are welcome.

  4. P.S. And, when I say donations, I do not mean the kind of eh, “donations” this dude refers to. Egad.

Check the Jon Stewart clip on Elizabeth Kucinich. It’s toward the end of the clip.

See - you guys [if you were like me] hair would be a non-issue. :0 )

  11. Good point…I’m not sure why I’m worrying either. These days, hair is increasingly becoming a non-issue for the males in my family.
